Erik and I got to sneak on a parentcation, as I like to call them, for a few days last month! My mom gratiously agreed to keep the girls and we headed to Vegas to un-wind. I don't really gamble, but am all about laying by a pool and good food! I have also been dying to see the Beatle's LOVE show since it first started!
We stayed at The Cosmopolitian and had a great stay. It was a gorgeous hotel; the chandeliers everywhere were AMAZING.
When we arrived, we had breakfast at The Henry at the hotel, and set off to explore the strip! After slowly making our way through hotels and shops, we stopped at Serendipity for lunch.
I loved all of the decor inside!
After lunch, our room was ready and we headed back to nap and get ready for dinner and our show.
The first night we ate at The Country Club at the Wynn overlooking the golfcourse. The food was AMAZING!
As well as the view! I had a cajun-spiced filet on a bed of garlic potatoes with onion straws.
Um. YEA.
After, we headed over to The Mirage to see Seth Meyer's Stand-up show. By this time I was EXHAUSTED and could hardly keep my eyes open, but once the show started it was a great time and we thought both him and his opening acts were hilarious.
The next morning we were up bright and early to secure a lounge chair at the pool for for prime people watching.
and drinking. ;)
After several hours laying at the pool reading and what not, we went to Holstein's for lunch at the hotel. Y'all have to eat there. It is the perfect spot for lunch; they have these amazing milkshakes and burgers!
Next, Erik headed out to gamble while I headed to The Spa.
Or as I liked to call it The Mothership! I had a massage, bath scrub, and facial and I felt like a million bucks after it!
For the night, it was dinner and a show again!
This time SushiSamba and The Beatles LOVE Show at The Mirage. Both were SPECTACULAR! Seriously, we talked about both all night and the next day. Two more MUSTS next time you go to Vegas.
Our last full day on vacation was spent by the pool. We got there around 9 AM and stayed until 2!
When we couldn't deny our stomachs any longer, we went back to Holstein's (that's how good it was). This time we indulged in the alcoholic milkshakes and even had a celebrity sighting!
Yes, I would be the creeper that snuck a picture. Foster the People performed at the hotel the night before and we ended up dining right next to leadman Mark Foster and I think one of the other bandmembers but I didn't get a good look or want to intrude. We have since been singing "Pumped up Kicks" but let him eat in peace... ya know, other than the stalker pic I snuck.
We spent the evening in a sportsbook watching baseball, and finished the evening with the Belagio fountains and our view.
It was such a great trip! I never really considered myself much of a Vegas girl, but man, we had a lot of fun!
We were definitely ready to get back to our girls though and made a MAD DASH through the airport to catch our connecting flight, to prove it!
Huge thanks to my mom for keeping them for us!

Glad you posted about this! I've been wanting the details...you know since we never talk!:). Maybe mike and I will go now and do same thing and then just follow all your trips so you can plan them for us:). I didn't think too much of Vegas either, but looked fun!
Probably not what I'm supposed to notice, but you look great in your glasses. :) I've only been to Vegas once (and it was for work), but Brent and I are going for a friend's wedding, so we're considering it a Babymoon/Parencation too!
Sounds like a lot of fun! I have only been to Vegas once and I was 12! It would probably be a lot more fun now!
I could go for a parentcation right about now! haha You look so great in these pictures, I LOVE that print dress and your glasses are too cute! :)
So much fun! I want a parent vacation to Vegas RIGHT NOW! Loved all your pictures!
